A Unique Shade of Therapy
Provider Bio - Courtney Berry

Seeking a better life starts with a better you, and I would love to help you accomplish that! I am a licensed therapist in Chicago with 5 years of experience in the mental health field between providing individual and family therapy and serving as an advocate in the community. As a therapist, I am passionate about helping my clients choose themselves and reach their goals. Choosing you is just the start.
I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, and my entire family is from and resides in Chicago. Helping and healing has always been a part of my life in some form, as I come from a HUGE extended family made up of counselors, social workers, and teachers who all work to serve the community of Chicago. I enjoy seeing how all systems come together and work as a unit to assist individuals. In my free time I enjoy spending time outdoors, traveling, spending quality time with my family and friends, and trying new adventures.
I attended university of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where I received my Bachelor of Science in psychology. After graduating I attended Roosevelt University where I received my Master of Art in clinical psychology (counseling practice).
I have 3 years of therapy experience in working with children, adolescents, teens, and adults. Most of my work has included working with individuals who experience symptoms of anxiety as well as, individuals and families that have experienced trauma, such as: relationship issues, divorce, domestic violence, and sexual violence. Working in crisis centers, community mental health agencies, domestic violence shelters, and hospitals has given me the valuable experience I have today to assist those who struggle with the long-term effects of what trauma can bring.
The thought of therapy can feel overwhelming and intimidating, it is my mission to make my clients feel comfortable and at ease in order to build a trusting long lasting relationship. I use humor as well as direct communication in order to address my clients concerns and meet their needs. I view the therapeutic relationship as an equal collaboration between therapist and client working toward one common goal, for you to feel at your best.
